The Witcher is a Polish fantasy book series by Andrzej Sapkowski. It began with a short story in 1986 and has since expanded into a cycle of short-story collections, the five-volume Witcher Saga, and later prequel novels. The series centers on Geralt of Rivia, the witcher Ciri, and the political and magical conflicts of the Continent, and it became the basis for major television, comics, and video-game adaptations.
